Our Love Story
I got his number and reached out to invite his group to minister at my church. Coincidentally we both were sick that Sabbath, so we didn't get to meet in person. We stayed in contact, the conversation was short and polite, eventually they would grow from occasional friendly banter to questions that were below surface level. It was very much unplanned but we were quickly learning more about each other.
My first impressions of her wasn’t all positive, we had a conversation that made me think she thought too highly of herself and it caused me to take a step back. Overtime I got to understand that it’s her high self-worth, integrity and good morals caused her to respond that way she did. I have quickly developed a high level of trust and loyalty in her due to those initial encounters.
I started looking forward to our conversations, WhatsApp messaging, random phone calls. The patience, respect, care, support and the genuine appreciation he showed me, had already swayed my mind. I’m sure by this time I already knew I was in trouble.
I was first attracted to her natural beauty on her display picture. After interacting with her I realized the physical beauty was superseded by her intelligence, wittiness and her genuineness of heart. Four months later I thought it was weird for me to be so captivated by someone I’ve never met, so we agreed to meet in person at Irish Pen SDA’s Music Day.
When I saw her I felt anxious, excited and terrified all at the same time. Sabbath school and divine service went by with only a wave and occasional glances at each other. After church we finally spoke and it all felt normal.
I was already in church by the time he got there. Luckily, I was seated in the row in front, so he wouldn’t be able to see how much I was smiling. I was happy for one main reason, he was way better looking in person than on his pictures.
There were two major things about me that I thought would never change. After realizing how much she has impacted my life it was a natural conclusion that I didn't want to go day longer without having her by my side.
It was about time. The night was perfect, his proposal was very meaningful and sentimental and I couldn't wait to tell him yes. I could see how nervous he was and I am sure he could tell how happy I was.
We hope this day will be a joyful day for everyone in attendance. While we look forward to celebrating this memorable occasion we hope it's just a fragment of the joy and time we'll share together.
